Magnetic Field and Temperature Scaling of the Critical Current of REBCO Tapes / Succi, G (CERN ; Southampton U.) ; Ballarino, A (CERN) ; Hopkins, S C (CERN) ; Barth, C (CERN) ; Yang, Y (Southampton U.)
High temperature superconductors (HTS) in the form of REBCO (RE1Ba2Cu3O7-δ) coated conductor tapes have undergone, in recent years, major improvement of their transport current properties in high magnetic fields and at liquid helium temperature. The modelling of coils and other applications using REBCO tapes requires accurate characterization and precise knowledge of their properties. [...]

Direct radiative capture calculations on $^{56}$Fe / Gkatis, Georgios (CEA Cadarache ; Natl. Tech. U., Athens) ; Diakaki, Maria (Natl. Tech. U., Athens) ; Mengoni, Alberto (CERN ; INFN, Bologna ; ENEA, Rome) ; Noguere, Gilles (CEA Cadarache)
The theoretical description of the $^{56}$Fe neutron induced reaction cross sections is the subject of many studies within the nuclear data community. Based on these studies, issues were discovered in the evaluated cross sections of the $^{56}$Fe(n,γ) reaction. [...]

Description and outlook of the $^{50,53}$Cr(n,γ) cross section measurement at n_TOF and HiSPANoS / n_TOF Collaboration
Chromium is a very relevant element regarding criticality safety in nuclear reactors because of its presence in stainless steel, an important structural material. Currently, there are serious discrepancies between the different evaluations regarding the neutron capture cross sections of $^{50}$Cr and $^{53}$Cr, most probably related to the difficulty of reducing and then estimating the very large neutron scattering effects on the shape of the resonances. Impact of high-intensity LHC beam operation on warm vacuum modules / Antuono, C (CERN) ; Krkotić, P (CERN) ; de la Fuente Garcia, E (CERN) ; Zannini, C (CERN) ; Calatroni, S (CERN) ; Baglin, V (CERN) ; Bregliozzi, G (CERN) ; Chiggiato, P (CERN) ; Galloro, A (CERN) ; Giacomel, L (CERN) et al.
During the third run of the Large Hadron Collider in 2023, which had the highest intensity bunch population compared to previous runs, a beam dump incident with operational delays occurred due to increased losses attributed to pressure spikes within a warm vacuum sector. Subsequent inspections revealed localized annealing and plasticization of the tension spring in the sliding contact radio frequency finger of a 212 mm diameter vacuum module, alongside traces of vapor deposition on the various module components with the stainless steel spring material. Real-time antiproton annihilation vertexing with submicrometer resolution / AEḡIS Collaboration
The primary goal of the AEgIS experiment is to precisely measure the free fall of antihydrogen within Earth's gravitational field. To this end, a cold ~50K antihydrogen beam has to pass through two grids forming a moiré deflectometer before annihilating onto a position-sensitive detector, which shall determine the vertical position of the annihilation vertex relative to the grids with micrometric accuracy. Charge radii of neutron-rich scandium isotopes and the seniority symmetry in the $0f_{7/2}$ shell / Bai, S.W. (Peking U., SKLNPT) ; Yang, X.F. (Peking U., SKLNPT) ; Koszorús, Á. (Leuven U.) ; Berengut, J.C. (New South Wales U.) ; Billowes, J. (Manchester U.) ; Bissell, M.L. (Manchester U.) ; Blaum, K. (Heidelberg, Max Planck Inst.) ; Borschevsky, A. (Groningen U.) ; Campbell, P. (Manchester U.) ; Cheal, B. (Liverpool U.) et al.
Nuclear charge radii of neutron-rich $^{47-49}$Sc isotopes were measured using collinear laser spectroscopy at CERN-ISOLDE. The new data reveal that the charge radii of scandium isotopes exhibit a distinct trend between $N=20$ and $N=28$, with $^{41}$Sc and $^{49}$Sc isotopes having similar values, mirroring the closeness of the charge radii of $^{40}$Ca and $^{48}$Ca. Search for very-short-baseline oscillations of reactor antineutrinos with the SoLid detector / SoLid Collaboration
In this letter we report the first scientific result based on antineutrinos emitted from the BR2 reactor at SCK CEN. The SoLid experiment uses a novel type of highly granular detector whose basic detection unit combines two scintillators, PVT and 6LiF:ZnS(Ag), to measure antineutrinos via their inverse-beta-decay products. Daily modulations and broadband strategy in axion searches: An application with the CAST-CAPP detector / Caspers, F. (ESI, Archamps ; CERN) ; Adair, C.M. (British Columbia U.) ; Altenmüller, K. (Zaragoza U.) ; Anastassopoulos, V. (Patras U.) ; Cuendis, S. Arguedas (CERN) ; Baier, J. (Freiburg U.) ; Barth, K. (CERN) ; Belov, A. (Unlisted) ; Bozicevic, D. (Rijeka U.) ; Bräuninger, H. (Garching, Max Planck Inst., MPE) et al.
It has been previously advocated that the presence of the daily and annual modulations of the axion flux on the Earth's surface may dramatically change the strategy of the axion searches. The arguments were based on the so-called Axion Quark Nugget (AQN) dark matter model which was originally put forward to explain the similarity of the dark and visible cosmological matter densities $\Omega_{\rm dark}\sim \Omega_{\rm visible}$.
