Detailed Magnetic Model Simulations of the H− Injection Chicane Magnets for the CERN PS Booster Upgrade, including Eddy Currents, and Influence on Beam Dynamics / Benedetto, Elena (CERN) ; Balhan, Bruno (CERN) ; Borburgh, Jan (CERN) ; Carli, Christian (CERN) ; Martini, Michel (CERN) ; Forte, Vincenzo (Clermont-Ferrand U. ; CERN)
The CERN PS Booster will be upgraded with an H^{−} injection system. The chicane magnets for the injection bump ramp-down in 5 ms and generate eddy currents in the inconel vacuum chamber which perturb the homogeneity of the magnetic field. [...]

A high-harmonic RF system that could serve multiple purposes was proposed for the LHC. Possible applications of the second harmonic RF system include beam stabilisation in the longitudinal plane in the absence of wide-band longitudinal feedback and reduction of bunch peak line-density. [...]

Novel Approaches in Characterization and Modelling of Fabrication Processes for SRF Components / Swieszek, Joanna (CERN ; U. Heidelberg (main)) ; Gallifa Terricabras, Adrià (CERN) ; Garlasché, Marco (CERN) ; Smakulska, Dorota (CERN)
In the past years, Finite Element Methods have been increasingly applied at CERN, with the aim of modelling fabrication processes for SRF components. Currently, many large deformation processes such as deep drawing, forging, hydroforming, and spinning, are being simulat-ed. [...]

Cryogenic Current Comparators as Low Intensity Diagnostics for Ion Beams / Sieber, Thomas (Darmstadt, GSI) ; Crescimbeni, Lorenzo (U. Jena (main) ; Darmstadt, GSI) ; Haider, David (Darmstadt, GSI) ; Marsic, Nicolas (Denmark, Tech. U.) ; Schmelz, Matthias ; Schmidl, Frank (U. Jena (main)) ; Schwickert, Marcus ; Stöhlker, Thomas (Helmholtz Inst., Jena ; Darmstadt, GSI) ; Stolz, Ronny (Ilmenau Tech. U.) ; Tan, Jocelyn (CERN) et al.
The Cryogenic Current Comparator (CCC) is a SQUID based superconducting device for intensity measurement, firstly proposed as a beam diagnostics instrument in the 90s at GSI. After prove of principle the CCC was introduced into other facilities, attesting great potential for high resolution measurements but at the same time considerable mechanical and cryogenics challenges and costs. Collimator Scan Based Beam Halo Measurements in LHC and HL-LHC / Hermes, Pascal (CERN) ; Giovannozzi, Massimo (CERN) ; Montanari, Carlo Emilio (CERN ; U. Manchester (main)) ; Morales Vigo, Sara (CERN ; Cockcroft Inst. Accel. Sci. Tech.) ; Rakic, Milica (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Redaelli, Stefano (CERN) ; Salvachúa, Belen (CERN)
Measurements in the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) have indicated that the population of the transverse beam halo is greater than that of a Gaussian distribution. With the upcoming High Luminosity upgrade (HL-LHC), the stored beam energy in the beam halo could become large enough to threaten the integrity of the collimation system. [...]

Crab Cavities for ILC / McIntosh, Peter (Daresbury ; Cockcroft Inst. Accel. Sci. Tech.) ; Belomestnykh, Sergey (Fermilab) ; Burt, Graeme (Lancaster U. ; Cockcroft Inst. Accel. Sci. For the 14 mrad crossing angle proposed, crab cavity systems are fundamentally anticipated for the viable operation of the International Linear Collider (ILC), in order to maximise its luminosity performance. Since 2021, a specialist development team have been defining optimum crab cavity technologies which can fulfil the operational requirements for ILC, both for its baseline centre-of-mass energy of 250 GeV, but also extending those requirements out to higher beam collision intensities. Characterisation of Cherenkov Diffraction Radiation Using Electro-Optical Methods / Schlögelhofer, Andreas (CERN ; TU Vienna) ; Duvillaret, Lionel (KAPTEOS) ; Lefèvre, Thibaut (CERN) ; Mazzoni, Stefano (CERN) ; Senes, Eugenio (CERN)
The properties of Cherenkov diffraction radiation (ChDR) have been studied extensively during the recent years to be exploited for non-invasive beam diagnostic devices for short bunches. The dependence of charge and the influence of the bunch form factor on the coherent part of the radiated spectrum have been demonstrated and studied in the past. [...]

Bunch-by-bunch Tune Shift Studies for LHC-type Beams in the CERN SPS / Mases Solé, Ingrid (CERN ; Goethe U., Frankfurt (main)) ; Bartosik, Hannes (CERN) ; Paraschou, Konstantinos (CERN) ; Schenk, Michael (CERN) ; Zannini, Carlo (CERN)
After the implementation of major upgrades as part of the LHC Injector Upgrade Project (LIU), the Super Proton Synchrotron (SPS) delivers high intensity bunch trains with 25 ns bunch spacing to the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). These beams are exposed to several collective effects in the SPS, such as beam coupling impedance, space charge and electron cloud, leading to relatively large bunch-by-bunch coherent and incoherent tune shifts.
